William Chittenden

Having recently graduated in Modern Languages with French, German and Spanish at the University of Exeter with a 2:1, I will now be pursuing a master's degree in Intercultural Communication and International Business during the 2025/26 academic year. As a passionate language learner who has lived, studied and worked abroad, but also undertaken an International Baccalaureate in French Literature whilst living in France, and a university degree in languages in the UK, I have developed a keen eye for detail. My fluency and knowledge of the French language is the result of years of dedicated study, hard work and enthusiasm, along with a willingness to always keep improving and develop my skills. With distinction in spoken French in my degree, and also having achieved a distinction level result of 71% in my final year French into English translation exam, I have demonstrated my ability to carry out clear, effective, and well structured and translations. I believe that translation is truly an art; it is a skill which demands outstanding cultural awareness, and an exceptional eye for detail in understanding specific linguistic and cultural nuances. I am extremely keen to share these skills as a translator and linguist, and am looking for freelance and remote work opportunities to help fund me through the rest of my academic journey.
