I've worked as a private GP and later as a Cardiothoracic surgeon since qualifying in 1987. I worked in an academic hospital setting as well as solitary private practice.
Not only did I start and managed the CT unit and ICU in Montana hospital but I built it up to a very successful unit. The private practice that I set up was also managed by myself, this include setting up electronic billing and later online integration with radiology, pathology and the hospital's electronic medical record system.
I always seems to end up in a leading and influential role wherever I work.
I have vast experience in all aspects of Cardiothoracic surgery, General and Cardiothoracic ICU, trauma and General practice.
Despite working as a specialist I never neglected my GP training and many a patient and their families stayed on in my practice for me to become their de facto GP, this included many of the hospital staff.
I do think I am highly respected in the medical fraternity in South Africa,
as I was asked to join the Medical team who treated Nelson Mandela in his last illnesses. I was actively involved in his treatment and the decision making for an extended period.
Even now being 8000 miles away I am regularly consulted by colleagues regarding a wide variety of problems.
Our reason for relocating to the UK is a personal one and not in any way related to my medical practice. It was made easier by our only child who permanently resides in London.
I am convinced that I have a lot to offer.

Ongoing consultation service to colleagues In Netcare Montana & Unitas hospitals in Pretoria, South Africa.
Disciplines include Cardiothoracic Surgery, ICU and sometimes general medicine.
To most of the doctors involved I was either trainer, mentor or just a friend.
This service also keeps me relevant and active.
My skilled worker visa is sponsored by the food production company.
I also now have a financial interest in it.
Besides initially training and managing food safety(HACCP) I also managed personnel health.
Currently I fulfil a more managerial and administrative roll.
