I am a profoundly energetic and tireless individual who puts an uncommon accentuation on patient and women-centered care. I am enduring, conscious, productive, able to work under pressure, and attempting to keep an uplifting attitude at record-breaking. I have splendid social capacities and examine effectively with all people from the multidisciplinary team, patients, and relatives, and respect their choices and rights. I am an active listener, motivate others, and build lasting relationships with mothers and their families. I can manage conflict and I am able to understand and empathize with others.
I am at present studying BSc Public Health at Greenwich University and I am in my final year. I acknowledge this course will give me a solid base to begin pursuing my objective. I am volunteering with Healthwatch Greenwich as a work placement (work experience). I also volunteer at Enfield Council giving back to my community. I have procured a certificate in GCSE O' Level, NVQ Level 1-3 in care, Access for Midwifery in 2015, Cannulation, and phlebotomist, and a care certificate.
I am a highly skilled phlebotomist, who sometimes runs my clinic taking blood for Glucose Tolerance Tests (GTT), and Glucose Challenge Tests (GCT). I am competent in taking all kinds of blood tests such as booking blood for pregnant women, and many more. I am competent in obtaining blood specimens by performing venipunctures, completing requisition forms, and producing correct labels for forms and specimen bottles and tubes and processing them for further analysis.
I have worked as a healthcare assistant and a midwifery assistant for 23 years in various hospitals and wards. I recently resigned from my post as a midwifery assistant at Northwick Park Hospital. I procured inclusion with assisting patients with personal care, measuring blood pressure, checking diabetic blood sugars, doing ECG, taking blood, urine, and stool tests, labeling them, sending them off to pathology, and documenting them in the trust’s computer provided. I am competent in checking patient’s test results on trust intranet (computers). I am competent in inserting a cannula in an aseptic way per the trust policy. My great deal of experience looking after people and my interpersonal skills will enable me to continue making explicit and constructive differences in people's lives.
