Hobbies

Publicity officer for the local Herring Queen festival for over 30 years.  Using my skills and knowledge of the print business to bring together all promotional material for the week long festival.  Liaising with newspapers, radio and television.   Booking suppliers, planning, producing risk assessments and marshalling Rotas.  Writing articles for magazines and producing our own programme of events.  Maintaining the Heritage and History.  Making funding applications, dealing with insurance and safeguarding policies.


President of the local ladies Burns Club for the last 14 years.  Organising a traditional Burns Supper every year and a summer trip.  Keeping membership records, emailing information and making bookings for caterers, halls, speakers and transport.
