Work history

BusDriver/Conductor

Go Ahead
Lymington, Hampshire
02.1998 - Current

I start my day with a vehicle check to ensure it's safe for the road & passengers. Any defects found are reported along with photos on a digital system. We then drive our vehicles via instructions on a duty card. My normal routes run from Lymington to Bournemouth & Southampton, along with schools & colleges. Along with picking up passengers, we take cash & passes hence the conductor side of the job. Each vehicle driven runs to a timetable which must be run on time. At the end of each day, I have to pay my takings into a drop-safe system before signing off & going home at the end of the day. All incidents, accidents & occurrences are reported digitally via a company website. A uniform must be worn & be smart & clean. Timekeeping & reliability is essential. I have worked for this company for 25 years so have seen many changes as the years have progressed. the biggest changes have been vehicle types, & onboard technology. I also have a certificate of professional competence which has to be renewed every five years.
