• Worked for the in-house trading and marketing division at First Quantum Minerals Ltd, leading the trades of various commodities through the following activities:
• - Overseeing Purchase/Sales contract negotiations, legal validation & signing
• - Monitoring production and stock levels at sites and loading ports.
• - Allocating purchases in compliance with existing sales contracts.
• - Reporting hedging position and managing tri-partite accounts.
• - Collaborating with banks to maximize credit line utilization for purchases and ensuring the prompt issuance of collateral and financial instruments for sales.
• - Planning booking and overseeing material uplift from supplier loading ports, followed by deliveries to end buyers.
• - Producing detailed shipments documentation complacent to Letters of Credit (L/C) and contractual terms.
• - Ordering and managing additional cargo documentation required by relevant regulatory bodies in origin and destination countries, as well as finalizing recoveries.
• - Maintaining accurate records and communicating with finance and treasury teams regarding financial settlements with suppliers and buyers and third parties, including LME brokers, transport companies, shipowners and surveyors in a timely fashion
• - Engaging surveying companies and their laboratories as needed during the stages while monitoring and reporting interim versus final analysis of weights/assays, including handling Assays Exchanges
• - Finalizing settlements as per purchase and sales deals, reconciling/"closing" the market positions effectively completing the trades' lifespan
• During my tenure, I successfully executed these leading responsibilities related to global trades involving copper cathode from Zambia, nickel concentrate from Western Australia, copper anodes from Zambia, copper and zinc concentrate from Mauritania, Finland and Turkey along with coal and sulphur to support mine operations, timely reporting to corporate sales analysts, finance controllers and treasury department.

• - Engineered and presented customers with comprehensive multi-modal transport logistics schemes, involving various activities such as: on-/pre-carriage arrangements, port handling, customs onward and outward formalities, vessels chartering, marine insurance, as well as solution for project cargo shipments.
• - Instituted tailored programs and documentation for seamless transactions between trading parties and financiers, including banks and hedging institutions to address specific requirements.
• - Decomposed delivery task into clear steps delegating responsibilities among operation team members at the head office and direct to subordinates, whilst supervising the successful execution.
• Operations Manager:

Expanded responsibilities from cargo transloading supervision to arranging and coordinating pre-/on-carriage and sea freighting cargo which involved:

• - Collaborating with Russian railways to book rolling stock, oversee wagons usage, manage positioning, and provide updates on loading/unloading dispatch, arrival, effecting timely payments of tariff in FX currencies and completing final settlements.
• - Coordinating with customs to ensure the accurate issuance of relevant cargo customs documentation for every stage of shipment till clearance for export/import, providing supporting vouchers for VAT refunds to exporter and 0% VAT Application for importers.
• - Chartering cargo vessels for transport across Russian waterways and the Baltic, Caspian, Azov, Black and Mediterranean seas, collaborating with multinational ship owners and fleet operators whilst optimizing cargo stowage plans and often personally overseeing ship loading, ensuring safe cargo placement.
• - Developed innovative multi-modal trans-shipment services, introducing container shipping for various cargo types and successfully exporting/importing: IMO bulk liquid cargo in flexi-tank, tea in 20-foot containers.
• Assistant Manager:

Upon joining the company, took on core responsibilities for forwarding business at this pivotal stage managing export/import or transit shipment through ports.

• Accounts Management and bookkeeping, overseeing credit control, tracking payment and money transfers in accordance with the company's chart of accounts, while maintaining ongoing communications with various local suppliers and customers, also compiling fundamental data for prospective purchase orders for the company's trading department.

• Supervised the complete logistics for export deliveries of bulk coal from Russia and Ukraine, originating via Black & Azov Sea ports, coordinating activities such as rail transport, port handling, customs formalities, and sea freight arrangements.

• Conducted active duties on the second largest tugboat at Tuapse Port's fleet, gaining invaluable insights into port operations and developing a better understanding of potential cargo handling issues and corresponding solutions.
