· I work closely with the ward deputy and act as the charge nurse for the shift, I ensure a safe environment and consistent approach to delivering care.

· Act as the charge nurse for the unit,

· Assess plan, implement and evaluate the care provided especially about identifying and managing risk.

· Enter and maintain records using electronic (RIO) and paper-based recording.

· Contribute to developing strategies for dealing with disturbed behaviour, especially recognising and responding to signs of imminent disturbance as required.

· Participates in therapeutic patients-centred care and provides a recovery-focused approach to deliver care through the MDT.

· Involved in presentations during ward rounds, handovers and other meetings where patient care is discussed and reviewed as required.

· Participating in the admission, assessment, transfer and discharge of patients according to local guidelines and standards.

· To ensure the safe medicine management and administration accordingly to Trust policies and the Misuse of Drugs Act.

· Provide support to the patient with daily living and maintaining their independence

· Managing complex behaviour and the risks presented

· Work under the supervision and guidance of the multi-disciplinary team

· Maintained regular and appropriate records and reports as directed

· Attend all staff meetings and other meetings as required and make a positive contribution to the meeting.

· Have a good relationship with patients and their relatives and multi-disciplinary team

· Supporting patient with different mental illnesses with their daily living and maintaining their independence, dignity, respect, and privacy

· Managing complex behaviour and the risks presented

· Work under the supervision and guidance of the multi-disciplinary team

· Use of a computer system for patient’s medical entry, RIO Progress Note to enter patient care plan/daily

· Engaging patients in therapeutic activities toward their recovery and adherent to St Andrew’s policies and procedures

· Undertaking any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as assigned by the nurse in charge/Manager

· Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging to achieve Support Plan goals

· Working as part of a core team providing essential support to the residents in the care home.

· Carrying out everyday duties in the nursing homes, emphasising promoting and maintaining their well-being and independence.

· Providing everyday support to residents

· Focusing on personal hygiene, mental stimulation and general well-being

· Ensuring residents’ rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable for them,

· Escorting residents to various appointments and activities and communal areas
