Working with adults and paediatrics in the community delivering specialist nursing care including: Ventilation, suctioning, oxygen therapy, respiratory therapy, medication administration, observation monitoring.

Providing specialist nursing care within the community setting including Intravenous medication administration and cannulation.

Caring for clients within the community setting. Ventilation, suctioning, tracheostomy care and change, catheterisation male/female, suprapubic catheterisation, cough assist, Autonomic Dysreflexia management, epilepsy, challenging behaviours, traumatic head injuries, challenging behaviour, spinal cord injuries.

I worked extensively throughout the country on medical and surgical wards, Emergency departments, Intensive care units and within the community with district nurses. I have a very wide scope of nursing practice and have had the opportunity to experience a diverse approach to nursing management nationally.

As a staff nurse within critical care, I admitted patients requiring life support machines, treatment and monitoring. I very much loved working here and this was my passion. I learned extensively on managing critically ill patients. I served as a covid veteran and supported teams in the crises, not only in this hospital but throughout the country.

My first position as a newly qualified registered nurse, I jumped straight into the deep end, admitting acutely unwell medical patients from the emergency department. In this dynamic fast paced ward, we were expected to admit, care for and manage patients and discharge to other wards. This was an excellent initial position to learn acute medical nursing and mastered optimising my time management skills.
