• Challenging exam which added to my comprehensive knowledge of different aspects of biology such as laboratory practical scenarios

Genetics Workshop at University of Oxford

• Attended a hands-on laboratory session where the PTC gene was analysed and its genetics were explored

• Gained valuable exposure to techniques like PCR, gel electrophoresis

• Analysed my own DNA, and determined my own genotype for the PTC taste gene

Second Year Mini-Project Essay

• 6 week laboratory project investigating the effectiveness of 4 lactase supplements in their ability to successfully break down lactose in individuals with lactose intolerance
• Enzyme parameters such as Vmax and Km were calculated and graphically analysed to determine substrate affinity as well as rates of reactions
• Further experience gained in techniques such as centrifugation, spectrophotometry as well as working aseptically

• Sports Activities: Manchester United fan, enjoying staying consistent in the gym and running

• Extra-curricular university participations: Tennis ambassador position on the tennis society committee, I also play tennis for the university at a competitive level
