I plan to study Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics, and History at A-Level before pursuing a Statistics, Economics, Data Science and Finance-based course at a top university. Skilled with the ability to work both independently and as a core team member, excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented, possesses a high level of attention to detail and quality for their work product, and possess strong written and oral communication skills. I value applying full effort to each task before progressing to the next to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes. Outside of academics, I enjoy swimming and cycling, which help me stay disciplined, active, and focused. I also play the piano, a pursuit that has strengthened my creativity and perseverance. In addition, I have a passion for reading a wide range of material, from fiction to finance-related books, as I value exploring different perspectives and expanding my knowledge across varied subjects.
Participated in J.P. Morgan’s work experience programme, which combined two online sessions in February and August with 3 days in-person placement. The experience provided practical expertise in CV and interview techniques, networking skills, and opportunities to apply these with peers and J.P. Morgan staff. I gained valuable insight into the firm’s operations and the teams creating positive impact for clients, customers, and communities. I also had the opportunity to network with current interns and senior staff, including heads of departments, which broadened my understanding of career pathways in investment banking and strengthened my professional confidence.
Completed a two-day programme designed to provide insight into working at a global bank and to explore future career options. The experience included hands-on work tasks, skills development, and confidence-building activities, alongside guidance on succeeding in selection processes. I also had the opportunity to network with a range of HSBC employees, gaining valuable perspectives on career pathways and the working culture within the banking industry.
Completed a one-week placement gaining first-hand experience of the responsibilities within an accountancy and finance practice. I worked extensively with Excel to organise, analyse and update client data, improving efficiency in record-keeping. I assisted with bank reconciliations to ensure financial statements were accurate and consistent, and supported administrative tasks including filing important client documents and responding to emails. This role allowed me to develop strong organisational skills, attention to detail, accuracy when handling financial information, and clear professional communication with clients and colleagues.
