PERSONAL STATEMENT
Throughout my diverse career, I have consistently dedicated myself to supporting individuals during their most vulnerable moments with compassion, dignity, and understanding. My current work with elderly residents at Hawthorns Retirement Village has given me valuable experience in bereavement support and helping people navigate profound loss, including supporting those grieving after decades-long partnerships.
I understand that when pet owners contact an end-of-life veterinary service, they are often experiencing intense grief and uncertainty. The bond between pets and their humans is profound, and deserves to be honoured with sensitivity and respect. Though I haven't worked in veterinary care specifically, my extensive experience in supporting people through grief, loss, and difficult transitions has prepared me to handle these sensitive conversations with the empathy they deserve.
I am drawn to this role because it allows me to continue my life's work of providing compassionate support during challenging times, creating a safe space for people to express their emotions, and helping them navigate difficult decisions with dignity. I would consider it a privilege to be the supportive voice that guides pet owners through this emotional journey, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and cared for during such a significant transition.
