Victor Katte

• Working in a multi-disciplinary team of business, science and technology experts that is charged with delivering a new strategic data platform in a multi-cloud (GCP, AWS and Azure) and hybrid environment, migrating legacy workloads from on-premises data centre onto the cloud and creating cross-cloud and hybrid integrations for a cloud-based unified data management platform across the various cloud and on-premises environments.
• Responsible for designing and provisioning the infrastructure for unified cloud data management consisting of data flow pipelines, AI/ML and LLM workloads, HPC workloads.
• I serve as the interface between the business data value stream teams and the global infrastructure and security teams which own and govern the cloud platform.
• I implement the provisioning of the infrastructure platform using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, Python, etc.
• As a key member of the data platform delivery team, using agile and DevOps methodologies I play a major role in the planning and prioritization of the deliverables

• Responsible for the design, implementation and operation of the observability capabilities of the infrastructure and workloads of customers on GCP. This entails performing software updates, renewing TLS certificates, troubleshooting and defects remediation, use metrics to monitor application and infrastructure performance etc.
  
• Worked with teams of talented SRE and software engineers to define, build and maintain cloud infrastructure.

• GCP Architect working in an agile team responsible for designing and provisioning the GCP infrastructure for the credit risk value stream. Responsible for producing the low-level and high-level end-to-end technical solution designs.
• Responsible for liaising with various technical and business stakeholders to clarify, elaborate and ensure there was common understanding of the business requirements, and translating these into implementable GCP infrastructure designs.
• Working with the Cloud Centre of Excellence, I took the lead in elaborating the integration interfaces with other third party partners and other business value streams.
• Responsible for mentoring junior team members and ensuring that team members undertook the relevant GCP cloud training and knowledge transfer to upskill to the level required to operate the bank’s cloud platform.
  

• Involved in a number of digital transformation initiatives within the company which focused on modernizing the application software stack and migration them to the AWS cloud.
• Working in a multi-disciplinary team, I lead the initiative to re-platform a number on-premises applications, containerize them and migrate them into the AWS cloud.
• Build the automated workflows for the containerization and deployment the applications into the AWS cloud.
• Developed best practice documents and procedure for migrating the deploying applications in AWS cloud.
• Re-architected the CICD pipelines to improve its performance.

• Worked in a cross functional team, designed and implemented the hybrid architecture integrating the cloud platforms for the core business service.
• Worked with the data science team, designed and implemented the data processing pipeline across the clouds, including the AI/ML pipelines in AWS using Sagemaker.
• Worked with the software teams, build a platform for the deployment of containerized applications in a robust and scalable architecture from automated pipelines.
• Developed the observability capability of the infrastructure and application and integrated alerting and notification systems.

• Worked with the business and application stakeholders, I translated and implemented requirements into architectures in the AWS and GCP cloud to support the business services.
• Successfully led the initiative to migrate more than 100 servers from RackSpace cloud to GCP cloud.
• Responsible for building and maintaining the monitoring systems for the infrastructure and application in the AWS and GCP cloud.

• Worked with the scientific and business stakeholders to elaborate the solution architecture of a hybrid high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure running in public cloud providers (AWS and Azure) for processing scientific, big data analytics and deep learning workloads.
• Designed a reference solution architecture from the documented business requirements and by interviewing the users’ community and other business and technology stakeholders.
• Evaluation and selection of several commercial cloud HPC vendors offerings namely Microsoft Azure (CycleCompute), Rescale, BrightComputing and Nice.
• Successfully Implemented a proof-of-concept (POC) of the reference architecture on the AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure.

• Worked with application and infrastructures teams to designed and built a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) backbone for the seamless integration of business applications.
• Worked with the Security and Identity management teams built integrations to the organization Identity Providers
• Built connectivity for centralized logs aggregation and integration to SIEM systems.
