  • Through out my life, as a youth until now I’ve always had a keenness on learning new things. I also have a competitiveness nature which pushes me to strive forward. These two traits that I have, come together and help me look forward to challenges, as well as helping me find ways to better improve on myself, both physically and mentally.
  • My hobby’s include a mixture of both physical and mental activities such as, reading books, and active sports such as football, basketball, swimming as well as going to the gym. Participating in sport allows me to find different parts of my performance in which I can improve on both physically and mentally such as my fitness (stamina, strength, speed), and my tactical abilities such as anticipation and reading gameplays.
  • My main sport is football, and that plays a big part in my competitiveness. Through out my time playing football, I was captained during secondary school and sixth form, and was vice captain at my previous club, Sp Leytonstone U18. Through the use of many different qualities as a leader and skills, I was able to win consecutive seasons, through many years of football at different levels. Reading books has helped me broaden my knowledge within the English language which is used daily.
  • During sixth form, I studied sports and exercises science (BTEC) I chose to study this subject because of the passion I have for sports. Within the subject of sport, I learned the ins and outs of a variety of different areas such as psychology, A+P, Rehabilitation in sports and human physiology. Within all of the units that I studied (19) I had to provide my teachers course work in different formats, such as presentations, leaflets, essays as well as doing both oral and written exams. I finished sixth form with a grade of DDD.
  • From the age of 17, I entered the working world where I started part time work to fit around my busy studying schedule. During my time at work as a part timer, I learned a lot of skills that could be used both in my day to day life, as well as my professional life, which has allowed me to become more confident in a variety of different ways. This has also allowed me to approach my work and work load in a respectable manor best fitted to the company/organisation (who has set the task). Whilst at work, i engage myself as best as possible in order to understand my role and do my job properly in order to meet the needs of employers. As I enjoy learning new things, I approach new challenges with a positive attitude, I am also a fast learner which helps me take on challenges.
  • After I graduated at sixth form, I went straight into full time work where I gained a lot of experience working within hospitality. Over the years I have worked Within hospitality, I’ve worked as a waiter, bar back, bartender and a host where i served food and both non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to customers. Working within hospitality has helped me significantly with my customer service as I have managed to acquire a variety of different key skills in order to help me deal with customers, other members of staff and employers.
  • Overall, through all of my experiences throughout life, I have learned a variety of key skills that play a major role through tall interactions I make with others, how I react, act and define me as a person. The many skills I have acquired are;
  • Communication both verbally and non-verbally which I’ve had to use in my day to day life to listen to others thoughts, as well as to get my points across.
  • Organisation which I use in order to manage my work load properly by keeping everything neat and in order which helps me concentrate and work more efficiently and effectively.
  • Time management, I use this skill everywhere as it is very important. This shows people that you are dedicated to and eager. I use this skill when asked to arrive at a set place at a set time. I also use this skill when I’m meeting deadlines for work as I like to hand in my work on time, I also give myself enough time to read over work and improve where needed.
  • Team work, I use team work whilst playing sport, and when working on team oriented projects, and/ or if I am helping or being helped by others to complete tasks. I like to listen to others opinions and give m own in order to overcome situations and tasks.
  • Dedication, is used when I take on tasks or put my mind to something as I like to finish what I start, from start finish. I try my hardest to not make any mistakes but If any are made, I learn from them and try and avoid them as best as possible.
  • Problem solving, I use this skill as often as possible to overcome any obstacle in front of me. I use all the skills I have to try and solve problems and if I don’t know a good solution, I ask for help.
  • I also have acquired IT Skills that can be used to provide different work to fit a specific purpose. These skills were learned and Honed at sixth form in order to fit assignment format. I used many different softwares to meet the assignments brief requirements.
