Accomplishments

Key achievements

My best achievements during my time at Q.E.H was during Auditor activity. I recognised an auditor on the cctv who was filming and taking photographs through our windows .I took it upon myself to approach the person rather than ask one of the officers to do so. This was due to other occasions not being very successful.

During my interaction i remained friendly and polite. Ensuring i remained in view of the cameras for safety and security purposes i also interacted with the staff members inside .The followed my instructions which then ensured their privacy in the workplace.

The second biggest achievement was alerting my team to a small group of people carrying a fire extinguisher and set of ladders .I realised within seconds what could be about to happen .My quick reaction meant the building was closed down to prevent entry and internal damage by a known group of protestors.

I am a security professional with a wealth of experience. Having held my S.I.A license for 7 years i have worked in a variety of venues range of events including football stadiums, music festivals ,covid test sites and corporate events. Although each of these differ hugely my professional attitude remains the same towards the clients.

Prior to starting my career in security i held 20 years experience in a customer service role with 13 of those in a supervisor role. My focus in my role was how to make things better for the customer.

Having held this role for a significant period of time brought maturity and integrity which has continued into my current role.

For the past 4 years i have been based in Queen Elizabeth House out with a few days at Bute House. During the first 2.5 years i held my role as security officer and gained knowledge of the environment and stake holders. I have built a strong relationship with Senior management within the estates team, stake holders, neighbouring businesses and Waverley estates management.

I pay good attention to detail and have often been praised by my direct manager and other senior managers within HMRC. This also extends to the ICO and also the Counter Terrorism Police who recognised my ability to assess and recognise potential security threats.

This has led to my promotion of Security Supervisor 18 months ago. During this time i have gained a high knowledge and experience in responding to various incidents including fire evacuation, flooding , protest activity and unauthorised entry to the building by a member of the public .During each of these incidents the safety of all personnel has been achieved.

During my role i have also gained knowledge and experience of contractor management and the legalities involved.

I carry out staff management tasks on a daily basis from scheduling duties to last minute emergencies to holiday cover.

Due to my conscientious efforts surrounding GDPR within my team i brought about a process to change the way we carry out one of our daily tasks. This has been a success and has ensured our stakeholders personal details are secure at all times.

Along with the skills i have to offer i also enjoy learning new skills which i may find useful in my role or indeed could help someone else . I like quality and improvement in roles i do which can make things better for everyone involved.

I hold high standards of security awareness and drive my team to continue improvement in their own security performance. I have gained a lot of respect from the estates team and further afield due to my standards of work.

Custom

I feel i would be the best candidate for this role due to the relationships i have built so far with the stakeholders and the estates team and strive to continue to enhance .The knowledge gained and deep pride in the tasks i already carry out to keep our stakeholders  and guests safe and secure.I am ready to progress in my career and will strive to do my best to enhance the security of our building and also that of our clients.I would easily fit into the estates department and work alongside them.
