Summary

I have worked in the field of health and social care since 1999 after completing my academic studies. I have always found this type of work rewarding and feel that I have a natural desire to want to support vulnerable people in our society to achieve their potential in society. Within my time within the health and social care sector I have ensured that I have worked in a variety of roles from baseline roles as a support worker to eventually managing my own teams.

I have worked in a variety of sectors including mental health, physical disability, learning disability, autism, acquired brain injury and older adults meaning a I have an extensive and diverse knowledge in a number of different specialisations. I have also worked with a wide range of individuals from the age of 16 onwards.

Along with my practical experience I have worked on my own development and completed management training to ensure my knowledge on how tom manage employees and contracts to a high standard.

I am a compassionate manager 23 years of experience leading a profitable provision with outstanding care. Prioritising resident wellbeing through dedicated staff development, resulting in a residence consistently in demand. I have been involved in the supporting of staff to ensure that they feel they are supported and I would always encourage their own personal development to ensure they are able to provide the higher level of support.

I have a vast understanding of safeguarding and I have been a safeguarding adult manager who was responsible for the investigations and strategy planning to remove risks or promote positive risk taking for all individuals and to ensure this was completed to the best of my ability I ensured that I liaised in partnership working with all stakeholders involved in the care and support of those individuals I was supporting. This means that I am well equipped to hold and chair meetings with other professionals and able to articulate my opinions in a non judgemental and professional manner.
