My career for the past thirty-six years has been working for the London Fire Brigade. My roles have included working within Payroll, Finance, IT, HR, Emergency Planning, Fire Safety, Special Operations Group, the Commissioner’s Suite and Community Safety departments. My last role involved managing a team within Prevention, having just returned from managing two corporate projects. I was also a volunteer for an On Call reactive rota in the event of a major incident in London, as well as a Met Ops Operator for event coordination at the Metropolitan Police Control Room.
In addition, I have been a voluntary lay member of Sutton’s Local Safeguarding Children’s Board and I have worked for the past thirty-three years for the London Boroughs of Croydon and Sutton as a Senior Presiding Officer, annual canvasser and count staff.
For the past ten years I have also worked on a part-time basis as an On Call Coordinator for two companies – Anchor Care and Prestige Nursing.
Since 2014 I have worked as a Clerk to Governors. Initially, this was for the London Borough of Sutton until the clerking function was closed. As a result I became an independent clerk.
I am a dynamic and adaptable professional with a strong foundation in project management, strategic planning and practical skills. I demonstrate exceptional communication skills, leadership, and resourcefulness, excelling in both managerial roles and team environments. I have a proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a calm demeanour under pressure. I am skilled in public relations, public speaking, and team building, with a commitment to fostering positive workplace dynamics.
