Summary

My research has shown me that conversing and really engaging with people told me exactly what it is they are looking for and that as they found an affinity with my art, it spoke volumes all by itself. People are wanting me to keep creating and continue to bring that freedom, peace and healing in my art. For others, variety is key, so making different kinds of art, crafts and using different techniques is also very much desired. The children were very well conversed also in making it known what they wanted ; to learn from me and often asked if I were going to do anything. I soon learned that schools were cutting art out from the curriculum and it concerned me that all these eager creatives were going to be held back, pushed in a direction within the system that didn't sit comfortably with them. It is without a doubt something that needs to be addressed still, because in order to be these business minded, academically pushed individuals (that they are trying to make children into), what they don't realise is that in order to succeed, there needs to be a creative element also. Vice versa with creatives, we need that business/ academic side also….everything needs to have balance. So short art courses and half day workshops are ideal for the aspiring artist. i sell my art in media groups such as facebook and instagram, in art platforms such as Fair Art Fair, through connections with larger art corporations who promote artists ( these connections I have started to make through trade shows in Birmingham NEC) and in business platforms such as linkedin. My art is priced according to its location, size time spent on it and both marketing and material costs. From this you can see from my art that there is always something or everyone. I am marketing myself to raise more interest and knowledge of my art and upcoming handmade jewellery . There is nothing locally that is offering the same quality or involvement with regards to learning art or using it as a way of relaxation and setting yourself free within it; as a tool to heal in whatever way a person requires. I am providing children with a format and an environment in which to continue their creative growth and path. I do plan and run one off day courses or weekend workshops, and will be liaising with the local schools and those in the community to do my utmost to keep communications flowing for continuity and variety always between us all. I have started a small product/service, market research last year to establish some costs and to be honest there is a vast difference between two different types. On one hand I have to consider the widespread community who live on very tight budgets within our financial crisis , and then, there are the more abundant individuals who are more than happy to pay, I quote, “whatever” and are not really overly concerned with the price of services.
