- Company Overview: Sustainable Transport charity.
- I took up fundraising for Sustrans (Sustainable Transport) charity from the summer of 2024.
- This involved stopping and speaking to people on the national cycle network, raising awareness for the charity and asking people for donations to contribute towards its goals.
- This was my first time taking part in a job involving sales as well as having monthly performance targets.
- Fundraising allowed me to build up a lot of confidence and get used to interacting with a wide range of people from different walks of life.
- I learned how to adapt my sales pitch to different people I stopped in order to get the best possible reaction when asking for donations.
- I learned how to adequately handle rejections and objections and how to elevate my mood and keep my emotions consistent when people weren't signing up.
- I learnt how to stay persistent and positive when outdoor weather conditions fell bad and people would refuse to stop and hear the pitch.
- I learnt de-escalation techniques and how to avoid argument without offending someone.
- Finally I learnt to read people’s behaviour through identifying 'red doors' and 'green doors' people likely and unlikely to consider donating.
- Sustrans fundraising has greatly elevated my confidence involving social interactions and helped me eliminate fear of rejection which could be extremely useful in future social situations in work.

- Company Overview: Worked with Randall & Rittner.
- I joined the Claibon recruitment agency to work a variety of different jobs in housing developments around London.
- These could vary from indoor cleaning and outdoor maintenance jobs to preparing bins from different apartment blocks for the refuse collection.
- I would assist abseil window cleaners by taking the role of groundsman whereby I would set out barriers, help carry items needed and handle the rope if it was tied together to make the descent smoother for the cleaners, and making sure the public did not walk through cleaning zones.
- I learned more about managing my own time as I would be working by myself and would have a set of tasks to complete throughout the day.
- I would learn how to manage all these tasks so the Apartment blocks were clean in time for inspections from supervisors.

- Company Overview: Hospitality and events at the Arcelor-Mittal orbit at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
- I help with a variety of tasks during large groupings and events at the Last Drop Cafe and the Orbit including serving tea and coffee at conferences, doing front of house and serving customers including food and pints at West Ham matchdays as well as some kitchen porter and cleaning tasks.
- My previous experience at bars and restaurants enabled me to get a quick grasp of the work while working front of house further developed my confidence with dealing with customers.

- Company Overview: Partnership with Waltham Forest Council.
- I was employed at Urbaser in Waltham Forest during the autumn leafing seasonal scheme lasting from November to January as part of the agency AFE Recruitment.
- I would predominantly do leafing and street cleansing but would also work on refuse doing bins a handful of times.
- I would work full time sweeping leaves and keeping the streets of Waltham Forest clean as well as litter picking and collecting rubbish bags and fly tips.
- Our supervisors at the Depot would identify streets in the borough that needed cleaning and would send me alongside a driver and another loader to tackle the problem.
- Here, I adapted to the intensity of physical labour, early morning hours and working in various weather conditions including rain and snow.
- It was very satisfying to improve the condition of the streets and do my part for the local community as well as improve public safety by gritting sleet and snow and leafing, protecting people from trip hazards.

- The role of bar assistant has taught me the importance of good chemistry between a team at work.
- Our responsibilities were assisting the bartenders with restocking ice and mixers and making sure there was enough of all types of glasses needed at the bar.
- Due to previous experience in the kitchen, I knew working at a fast pace as well as high intensity and good organisation was required to ensure everything ran smoothly on busy weekend nights at the bar.

- Company Overview: Involved in the filming of Endeavour VIII.
- In August, I worked two days as part of the mammoth screen crew during the filming of Endeavour VIII in Slapton.
- I worked in the location department as the location marshall.
- This consisted of keeping people out of the area filming was taking place through a walkie-talkie system with my manager as well as offering general assistance in/around the filming site.
- It also enhanced my team working and communication skills.

- Company Overview: Involved in the summer Santander bike scheme.
- During July 2019 I worked for Serco and TFL in aiding with the summer Santander bike scheme.
- I made sure the extra bikes were kept safe and assisted customers with renting them out.
- Additionally, I also took part in unpaid work experience at the Serco department in Angel where I volunteered with helping drivers distribute and deliver the bikes to where they were needed as well as learning the ins and outs of fixing the bikes in the department’s warehouse.
- During this time I realized the importance of working in a governmental organization and have gained vital experience in providing customer service and working as a team with the other members of the scheme.
