I am very hardworking and motivated, always bringing a friendly atmosphere to the team, whilst also having a serious outlook on responsibilities and tasks that need completing. I thrive working in a team but also have strengths working independently. Striving to progress within my role I'm always keen to learn new skills and put in the effort.
After I had completed my level 3 Site Carpentry qualification at college, I began my career on the gas industry in a re-instatement team. There I learnt all the basics which included, backfilling an excavation using a tamping rammer, reinstating excavations with tarmac, site safety, risk assessments, dealing with customers, safely and completing work to a sufficient standard.
A gas main replacement supervisor took a liking to my eagerness and work ethic, and proposed I joined a gas mains replacement team. From there I became a NC01, where it was my job to work closely with a service layer and assist him in any way whilst learning the trick of the trade.
In 2023 I joined a 6 Person team at JPB utilities, where I undertook my NC02 (Service laying) Qualification.
My roles for a standard week are as follows:
- liaising with customers about their gas services and the work that is going to be undertaken.
-Safely prepare the site for excavation this includes using a
cat&genny to mark other utilities that could be a risk during digging.
-Using a camera to find gas supplies on the gas main.
-Safely excavating on customers property when needed.
-Replacing gas supplies.
