During my week of work experience I spent time in each area of the business in order to get an overall sense of how the shop operated and the key services that they provided.

I was particularly interested in the workshop where bikes were built and repaired as that is a passion of mine as a hobby. However i also assisted with the 'front of house' duties: meeting customers, advising on technical equipment, bike accessories, clothing, and bikes themselves. I received very positive feedback from the shop owners and other staff about my attitude to the work, punctuality, knowledge of the subject matter and my confident interactions with staff and customers. I was always happy to pitch in with whatever tasks were required, whether that be cleaning, making the tea, walking the shop dog, talking to customers, restocking the shelves, building a bike or mending a broken part and booking in services on the shop system.
