This research, commissioned by Foras na Gaeilge in 2024 following a successful competitive grant application (£10,000), provided the first comprehensive evaluation of Éifeachtacht Scéim na Scoláireachtaí Gaeltachta (Gaeltacht Scholarship Scheme). The findings identified key strengths alongside areas requiring strategic development, and were formally presented in a detailed policy report. This work has since informed high-level policy consideration and ongoing planning in relation to the future design, delivery, and evaluation of Gaeltacht scholarship schemes, contributing directly to the evidence base underpinning Irish language immersion policy development.
