To sum up, I am well travelled throughout the UK and Europe having driven many different vehicles both as a teacher and a family man.
I have a clean driving licence and over 50 years of driving experience.
My house is ideal for a car to be easily parked on the driveway, safely and secure in a quiet street in Abergavenny.
Also, I am also honest, reliable and a good time keeper.
You might think why am I applying now at my age? The main reason is I enjoy working and driving. Most of my time is taken up doing charity work through the Rotary Club but I would like to fill my time and be busy, so this because of my love of driving would suit me down to the ground.
Finally having taught for many years, planning and good communication was the key to good teaching, so hopefully that helps to cover the skills needed for this position.
The role of a teacher is somewhat different to this position. However, throughout my career of 38 years the one thing that makes me suitable for this post is the driving I did when I was a PE teacher. I have driven many different mini buses over the many years of teaching with an unblemished record.
Also, teaching taught me to be patient, hence I have a clean driving licence!
I have worked in the Midlands as well as in S Wales and know these areas well for travel purposes.
Coupled with the fact that I have travelled extensively throughout the country not just driving a car but driving a motorhome and towed caravans. Whilst this doesn't apply to this job directly, I have also driven all over Europe (and still do) both towing and driving the aforesaid motorhome and caravan.
Having driven for over 50 yearsI have had only two minor accidents (neither my fault!) and none in the last 30 years.
Therefore I feel this post is ideal for me as I enjoy driving and if you can drive around the 'peripherique' in Paris you can drive anywhere.
