I have gained a wide variety of practical experience skills and knowledge whilst undertaking practical placements within hospitals during the course of my nursing degree. I have also worked on a voluntary basis within a care home for the elderly in Timisoara, Romania which I very much enjoyed. I established positive working relationships with staff and was able to provide a high standard of care to the residents.
During my time in Scotland, I also undertook a caring role for my mother in law who was 79 years old, registered blind and was diagnosed with Advanced Pancreatic Cancer, I supported her to get washed / dressed and tend to her personal care requirements, ensuring her dignity at all times which she reported that she greatly appreciated. I also undertook all aspects of moving & handling tasks to ensure both her health & safety as well as comfort to transfer from her bed into a chair or likewise in and out of the car into her wheelchair when out in the community. As she was blind, I also prepared her meals and drinks etc. I was also responsible for administering her medication as prescribed by her GP. As my mother in law's condition quickly progressed, I was also able to spend time with her chatting and trying to relay her fears and make her as comfortable as possible in her final days which I was grateful to be of assistance to her and my extended family who at times struggled to comprehend her diagnosis and the progressive nature of her condition as well as how best to meet her daily needs and manage her pain levels.
In addition to the above, I can confirm that I have been granted a PARTNER (STANDARD) VISA which allows me to live and work in the UK.
