Securities Financing Transaction Regulation, A new regulation for all securities finance transaction (SFT) which is intended to enhance transparency. The EMEA based project involved working with the regulatory team, several technology teams and external vendors to ensure the firms readiness and compliance for go-live. Project objective was to ensure the firm was in the best position to report transactions as accurately as possible., Responsible for client outreach for the repo workstream which helped to understand client’s approach to the regulation as well as sharing our approach with the clients. These provided useful information in sharing our strategy, solutions as well as providing the needed focus and allocating the right resources as needed., Oversight of the Repo vendor workstream: Responsible for working with the vendors as well as internal technology teams on our connectivity while identifying gaps and suggesting design solutions that could fill those gaps. Also created test scenarios as well as test scripts which captures all required and essential test parameters such as trade types and client types and carefully analyzing them to ensure the outcomes match as expected. Worked to vendors to create required data to ensure completeness of our feeds, Responsible for solution design for the Agent lending flow: Helped identify systematic way to identify repo ALD and non-ALD clients and providing possible design solutions for the regulatory team, technology team as well as how to get this information to our vendors correctly., Worked with the other SMEs to create business requirements for technology and the reg teams as well as procedures for the line team post BAU, Served as a liaison between the middle office team and the regulatory projects team by providing regular updates to senior stakeholders on regulatory impact on BAU as well as potential resource needs while also providing needed information to the team in readiness for the project go live
Repo Strategic Architecture (Secdb Onboarding), A Global implementation project which entailed centralising and migrating the global middle office operation team’s booking platforms within the firm. Project helped streamline the repo business with other products in the firm while creating a platform that allowed for potential and more exotic new businesses without violating firm booking policy., EMEA project lead for implementing ‘Front to Back’ strategic systematic/workflow enhancements across multiple teams and regions for the Repo product which enabled the generation of an additional $30mm through increasing electronic execution rates by 60%- 70%, onboarding of trades from legacy to strategic infrastructure and assisting with growth into new markets and products through co-ordinating the enhancement of trade booking systems, Worked with the global middle office team to put together business requirements for Repo strategic architecture project, Ensuring Business Requirement on the Repo Strategic architecture included the limitations of the current systems and the current risks that could be mitigated, Regularly presented results and benefits of internal testing strategies to Managing Directors of the business., Liaised with multiple vendors to go-live with our vendor flow- Pirum and Trax which helped improve client relationships, internal trade reconciliations and reducing settlement fails.
Confirm Project, A process improvement project to streamline operational support processes between the middle office teams, traders and external clients and minimizing manual touch point for operations team during confirm drafting., Lead for the project in EMEA while working alongside other SMEs, traders, legal as well as technology in various regions to build requirements and capture all gaps, Working closely with global technology teams on building out a system that supported the complexity of REPO confirm drafting, Responsible for gathering, detailing and providing requirements on the confirm project, Coordinated client and desk communication on project updates and releases while reviewing outcomes generated and ensuring they met required standards, Responsible for creating a client migration plan from manual confirm drafting unto the new system, Fully onboarded client notices unto the new system, saving the team 2 hours each week and delivering better client service as client received notices next business day rather than 3 weeks after trade execution, Coordinated team training plan on the new system as well as putting procedures in place for the team
Process Improvements
Developed the price variance check aimed at streamlining prices and generating exception report to mitigate the risk of overpayments and capture booking error
Responsible for initiating and developing the two-way broker checkout system project which helped capture unbooked trades and minimizing trade fails
