PERSONAL STATEMENT I am a seasoned dedicated Business Executive hailing from a financial background, with over 32 years' experience. After graduating in Business and Finance at what is now Plymouth University, I started working in accounts departments for 2-3 years in various small businesses, ranging from a Solicitors to Property managers and to Importer and Exporters. I would be the only full-time employee in these companies at the time of the introduction of accounting software such as Sage Version 4 in the late 1980s. Having experienced small corporate life, I set up my own Limited Management Accountancy company and maintained the accounts upto Trial Balance level for small to medium sized businesses for 10 years. At our height, we employed up to 12 Values I am values driven and work collaboratively across departments and organisations to ensure communities are at the heart of my design and delivery. I have an open-door policy and am accessible to everyone in the organisation. I work to the highest standards and am often the first one in and last to leave. I have an inclusive approach, which means I aim to ensure that inequalities are laid bare, and no one is left behind, capturing marginalised voices. I am an experienced facilitator bringing managers and workers together to develop innovative practice across departments and sectors, breaking down organisational barriers. I lead by example.   • Participated in IPO's, taking companies from Limited status to the Aim market
  • Developed and set-up an Index for Fine Wine which was unheard of in the early 2000s

  • After leaving the company to my brother, I became Financial Controller for a medium sized business with an annual turnover of £35m for six years, helping set up the accounts department and running all its financial aspects within their many branches and offices from the UK to Spain to the Caribbean and to Liechtenstein
  • I was the Financial
  • Controller for two concurrent businesses for the owner, involving buying and selling French en premier Fine
  • Wine, Stocks and Shares, Investment rounds and IPO's
  • During this period, circa 2004, I set up a Beauty Salon business in East London, where I employed a manager to oversee the day-to-day operations whilst I focused on the financial aspects from budgeting to buying to preparing accounts for filing and injecting capital to keep the business going
  • A second branch was set up in 2009
  • Between 2007 and 2009 I ventured into Diamond mining in
  • Sierra Leone
  • There, I setup a company, leased some land, employed 20 miners and mined for Diamonds
  • Having excavated the rough diamonds, I would export them to Miami, under the Kimberley Process
  • Certification Scheme, for polishing and selling
  • In 2010, I was appointed as Vice President of Mantra Group in
  • South America
  • Utilizing my Financial Accounting experience, I was put in charge of $100m worth of assets, which included a 100 rooms Luxury Hotel & Resorts in Uruguay and 100 rooms North East Brazil, 2 Casino's in Uruguay, 60 Hectares of Land for development and one boutique hotel in Argentina
  • These were ultimately owned by Sonangol (UK), the National Oil Company of Angola, utilizing their wealth fund
  • In high season, I was responsible for 800 staff and 550 in low season
  • Having sold all our interests in South America between the years of, , I returned to the UK full time where I continued to run the Beauty Salons until 2019, then setup an E-commerce business selling Beauty products online
  • This was operated during Covid year 2020, where we went from 30 orders a day to 200 a day
  • Today, I work as a part-time consultant for a music artist company

  • We would jointly scrutinise the performance of each department culminating in assessing the monthly performance of the business
  • My experience entails that I have a special system for budgeting, forecasting, financial and an investigative framework for reviewing and analysing operations of the business
  • I would demand and schedule monthly Management meetings with all department heads to peruse their performance from a financial perspective
