My journey has been within the Hospitality sector, realising my dream of being a business owner.
I started making cocktails in the West End of London, and ended by being World Bartending Champion and a regular contributor to ITV's This Morning as resident Mixologist. More importantly I learnt about people, diversity and inclusivity. I would argue that you will meet every kind of human in a busy West End restaurant, and the world would be a better place if everyone had that sort of experience.
I eventually ran Bars and Nightclubs for an Independent Group in South East London. I learned a lot about Management, Financial Management and how to Operate small Independent Business.
In 2015 I decided to strike out on my own. I said to my now Wife, "It's now or never." I opened Hello Burger and grew to two units and two Dark Kitchens.
Unfortunately a combination of Covid and The Cost of Living Crisis have made business extremely challenging. It's been a time for self reflection, challenging my own habits and thinking about my plans. With my wife and children at the forefront of my mind, I have decided to change career and pursue my dream of being an Airline Pilot.
I feel the skills I have learned in business will stand me in good stead in leading teams, working alongside people and problem solving.
