I designed and built my own house, from concept to completion. This was a ten year project which enabled me to develop a wide range of skills including general building, painting and decorating, bricklaying, tiling, woodworking, dry stonewalling and roofing., I was also able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, be creative in my planning and keeping calm when plans go wrong., I home school my three children which requires exceptional planning and diary management and I feel the skills I have gained throughout this time transfer well to the workplace. I regularly liaise with education authorities and home schooling groups and continually research to ensure my knowledge is up to date.
