I am currently employed as an Assistant Project Manager at a small building company specialising in Passivhaus new builds. During this role, I have gained valuable experience and developed my skills through initiative and self-motivation. However, due to the size of the company and the limited resources available, opportunities for progression have been restricted. I am now seeking a position within a larger, more structured organisation that can offer the support, mentorship, and professional development necessary to progress into a full Project Manager role and continue advancing my career.


Core responsibilities:

  • Led planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets to meet client and business objectives.
  • Manage project schedules using project management software (e.g., MS Project).
  • Acted as main point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversaw procurement, contract management, and negotiation of variations and claims.
  • Ensured compliance with quality standards, health & safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Managed risk assessments and developed mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
  • Produced regular project reports, progress updates, and maintained accurate project documentation.
  • Took ownership of all project documentation, including Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), handover packs, O&M manuals, and health & safety files.
  • Supported the Managing Director with business-related tasks, including preparing for valuations and assisting in the development of more structured internal systems to improve company organisation, communication, and efficiency.
  • Directed project teams, providing leadership, support, and performance management.
  • Responsible for the organisation and documentation of all green technologies, including MVHR systems, EV chargers, solar panels, airtightness testing and materials, and heat pumps—gaining valuable experience in managing sustainable technologies and Passivhaus projects as a whole.

  • In this role my core responsibilities began with supporting the wider project management team with various daily tasks which were always changing.
  • I was also solely responsible for tracking progression of all projects by ustilising gantt charts. I would then compare the actual progression against estimated milestone dates to help support the business by providing my insights to my team.
  • I combined this tracking system with a Construction Design Tracker, where I liased with designers to track costs and estimated finish dates of all designs and feasibility studies. I then relayed this information to the wider team and liased with the design teams to ensure deadlines were met and all dates worked in accordance with estimated milestone dates to ensure we were able to meet our deadlines.
  • I also created a Automated Key Performance Indicator Tracker which I was responsible for. This worked as a warning system via a traffic light system which indicated when we were close to triggering KPI's for all of our projects and would provide direct instructions about how to avoid triggering the KPI, e.g. "Submit all preconstruction information by **/**/**, 4 items are currently missing".
  • I managed the reception, storage and dissemination of all key information for all projects in a shared online folder.
  • I worked alongside our health and safety specialist to review and sign off RAMS, Construction phase plans and Health and safety files.
  • I attended site visits where I would assess the scope of new projects or conduct progress and health and safety checks on ongoing projects.
  • This role required excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. It also required a strong business acumen and the ability to adapt on a daily basis to best meet the needs of the business.
