Summary
I am currently completing my NVQ Level 2 Barbering qualification and am looking to pursue a career in the industry.
During my time at college, I have completed modules including Skin Fades, Tapers, Braiding, Single length long hair, beards and gentleman's cut.
Having arranged work experience with a local barbers, Hair Masters in Stony Stratford, I have been able to bring in my own clients where I have completed cuts start to finish with increasingly less guidance from the barbers.

My role here is to be the front of house and first point of contact for customers.
This includes greeting them, checking them in and making sure the Barbering team are aware that their client has arrived.
I am also responsible for chasing outstanding payments by outbound calling customers who are overdue.
I ensure all areas of the shop are clean and tidy, including the staff room, shop floor and refuse areas, as well as maintaining barber stations which has given me a very good awareness of health and safety standards.
Hair Masters have a longstanding reputation in the local area and high standards which I have worked hard to learn and maintain.

I arranged my own work experience placement with Blackstar who make guitar amplification products - music is another passion of mine.
In this placement, I learnt about the business, had exposure to sales, marketing and technical development.
One of the areas I most enjoyed was testing new amp models and providing feedback reports on their performance.
I learnt how to work as part of a team, building relationships with new people.

Affiliations
- Music has always been a passion of mine. I am a self-taught bass guitar player, developing my skills from online tutorials and with the help of people I know. I learned to play by following online tutorials and reading tableture. At 14 I formed a band with a group of friends. We performed regularly at local pubs and parties for over two years, building a set list of more than 14 songs. As well as being alot of fun this experience helped me to grow in confidence performing in front of live audiences. Sadly the band is no longer together since completing our GCSEs but I am keen to join another band soon.
