As a Piling Operative specialising in Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) and precast piling methods, I support the safe and effective delivery of complex foundation works across diverse construction sites nationwide. Working closely with engineers and site supervisors, I play a key role in preparing, executing, and coordinating piling operations in line with project specifications and safety standards.

• Foundation Preparation & Groundworks: Assist with site preparation, ensuring a safe and efficient setup for piling operations.
• Machinery & Rig Setup: Support in the delivery, setup, positioning, and operation of piling rigs, crawler cranes, excavators , and other plant equipment, ensuring all machinery is fully operational before work commences.
• Concrete & Reinforcement Installation: Play an integral role in the precise installation of concrete and reinforcement materials according to project specifications.
• Site Organisation & Safety: Manage tool and equipment storage, ensuring materials are safely handled and stored to reduce risks.
• Documentation & Reporting: Contribute to daily progress updates, equipment inspections, and quality control records, supporting overall project tracking and compliance.
• Safety Compliance: Actively participate in toolbox talks and ensure strict adherence to site safety protocols to promote a secure working environment. Regularly review safety measures related to both CFA and precast piling activities.

Working closely with senior operatives, I help ensure smooth operations and the safe execution of foundation works, consistently meeting project goals and maintaining high safety standards.

During my apprenticeship at Winbro Group Technologies, I received extensive training at the Rolls-Royce Learning and Development Centre and Derby College. The programme combined hands-on experience with classroom learning, providing me with a comprehensive skill set across various engineering disciplines. Key aspects of my apprenticeship included:

· Electrical & Mechanical Training: Gained foundational knowledge in electrical installation, electronics, mechanical fitting, welding and machining, both theoretically and through practical application.

· Mechanical Fitting & Assembly: Developed expertise in assembling and fitting mechanical components, ensuring precision and alignment in machinery and sub-assemblies.

· Machinery & Systems Exposure: Worked on electro-discharge machinery, laser technology, and electro-chemical machinery, gaining experience across diverse systems.

· Installation & Maintenance: Assisted in electrical installation, mechanical assembly, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of machinery and sub-assemblies, ensuring smooth operation and reliability.

· Onsite Installation: Participated in onsite equipment, mechanical fitting, and electrical system installations, applying technical knowledge to ensure proper functioning and efficiency.

· Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Developed strong troubleshooting skills, enabling me to effectively diagnose and resolve issues with machinery, mechanical assemblies, and electrical systems.

This apprenticeship equipped me with a solid understanding of mechanical fitting, engineering principles, electrical systems, and practical installation techniques, all of which I applied to deliver high-quality and efficient solutions in the field.

As part of a skilled team at Todd Engineering, I contribute to the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of spray booths for industrial applications. Leveraging my electrical background, I collaborate closely with qualified electricians, assisting in the setup of electrical systems within spray booths. Key responsibilities include:

• Electrical System Installation: Assist in wiring control panels, installing electrical components, and troubleshooting faults to ensure optimal system performance.
• Spray Booth & Industrial Equipment: Support the installation and commissioning of spray booths and body shop equipment, ensuring all electrical systems function safely and efficiently.
• Multidisciplinary Work: Undertake a variety of tasks including steel erecting, pipe fitting, ducting, and cladding, contributing to diverse aspects of industrial installations.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance and promptly address electrical and mechanical faults to ensure the continued operation of systems.

This diverse experience has broadened my skill set across multiple disciplines, enabling me to deliver seamless, high-quality installations and maintenance work.
