Timothy Titterington

Currently, i am a security officer based in Tesco Extra which is one of the larger stores. I ensure the safety of customers and staff through a visible, approachable presence while protecting property and assets. Key duties include conducting patrols, deterring thefts, managing incidents, providing customer service and enforcing security procedures typically requiring an SIA license.

• Ensured safe and secure crowd control outside the venue, adhering to regulations.
• Eliminated unauthorised access, performing thorough identification checks on visitors
• Monitored customer behaviour within the venue, upholding a positive, safe environment in line with license laws.
• Monitored CCTV footage.
• Avoided devastating outcome of extreme incidents, using approved restraining and escorting techniques to remove unruly guests.

• I ensured that the venue was secure for all members of the public; i did this by checking the identification of all guests and should there be a problem i would deny them entry.
• I patrolled the venue inside when all of the guests were through to ensure that there were no antisocial behaviour or unauthorised articles on the premises.
• In relation to conflict; should there be any issues i am a team player and would assist my colleagues in dealing with it professionally.
• I would also conduct searches should i suspect any unauthorised articles on the person to minimise the threat of violence.

I worked as part of a team and had repsonsibilities for various cleaning duties to enure the cleanliness of several buildings within a moterway service area. Complying with all proper saftey policies and procedures when using cleaning chemicals. Making sure that COSHH regulations were adhered to on the use of chemicals, protective clothing and equipment.

Ensuring the hallways, stairs and windows were cleaned to a high standard. I was responsible for mopping, sweeping, vacuuming and buffing. Making sure windows and doors were securely closed. Emptying of all waste bins and removing waste in designated areas. Cleaning offices, reception areas, washrooms and toilets. Cleaning and dusting of all interior surfaces, fixtures and fittings. Maintaining a safe and secure working environment. I also mopped and disinfected all WC floor surfaces and replenished bathroom supplies.

On top of the above; i also worked nights to partake in the security aspect. This involved walking around and taking the registrations of the lorries as they had to pay in order to stay there.
