Tilly Preston

Having recently graduated from the University of Leeds with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Class 2 Division 1 (2:1) in English and Sociology with a Year in Industry , I have developed a strong foundation in strategic communication, research, and relationship management, complemented by hands-on experience within the public relations industry. During my placement at Weber Shandwick , I supported client accounts through media monitoring, market research, press release writing, and campaign reporting, gaining first-hand experience of the fast-paced agency environment.

Alongside my placement, I have actively sought every opportunity to broaden my experience, supporting luxury fashion events with IPR London and immersing myself in the industry wherever possible. I am naturally curious, eager to learn, and genuinely passionate about public relations, continually looking for opportunities to develop my knowledge and contribute to high-quality work.

I thrive in collaborative, client-focused environments where strong communication, organisation, and creativity are essential. My degree has strengthened my written communication and analytical thinking, while my professional experience has developed my confidence, commercial awareness, and ability to build meaningful relationships. I am excited by the opportunity to begin my career within a forward-thinking PR agency, where I can continue learning from experienced professionals while making a positive contribution to clients, colleagues, and the wider business.

• Performing Arts – Achieved Grade 8 Trinity Singing and completed LAMDA qualifications, developing confidence in public speaking, presentation, and communication through performances and community events.
• Music Production & DJing – Passionate about music production and DJing, providing a creative outlet that has strengthened my attention to detail, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
• Community Engagement – Enjoy supporting charitable and community initiatives, including volunteering through musical performances and participating in university fundraising events.

Supported a range of fundraising initiatives for organisations including the Bone Cancer Research Trust, Cancer Research UK, and Child Bereavement UK, taking part in events such as a 13,000ft charity skydive, festival fundraising, and university showcases.
