Part of Team 4 in Keoghs, assisting 3 Solicitors on a range of Civil Litigation matters in the Court Court and High Court with a value up to £2,000,000. Including Road Traffic Claims, Public Liability, Employers Liability, Credit Hire claims and Fraudulent claims.

  • Drafting – NOIDs, Appearances, Notice for Further and Better Particulars and Replies, Defences, review questionnaires and applications.
  • Reviewing new files on receipt and considering evidence to determine strategy, considering any further evidence required considering damages and costs and preparing draft advice to the client summarising these issues for the solicitor to approve and send out
  • Analysing medical, financial and documentary evidence to assess liability, causation and quantum, identifying evidential strengths and weaknesses
  • Reviewing loss of earnings documentation and applying Ogden Tables in large loss cases to assist with quantum assessment.
  • Preparing instructions to counsel and liaising with experts and third parties to support case progression.

  • Assisting in resolving CRU and NHS charges, for example: successful Mandatory reconsideration which reduced recoverable sums from over £6,000 to £0 through detailed review and challenge.

Accomplishments

In doing so we inspired our local parish, as a result we made it onto UTV and Trocaire wrote an article about us.
