Venue Manager Assistant

Stepping out of the kitchen, being the face of the front of house, client-facing.

  • Coordinated with suppliers & back of house, communicating the event agenda to ensure strict timelines were met.
  • Undertake venue checks throughout the day, opening up, ensuring everything is restocked in the rooms the couple get ready in,
  • Commence occasional food orders, bring in and check off venue deliveries.
  • Greet the Bride and Groom on their wedding day. From that moment I deliver an attentive experience throughout the whole day, going above and beyond purely to make their day special, making sure they have everything they need so they can settle down relax and get ready.
  • Run through the day plus their addressed instructions on the planner, ensuring I have the correct times and information. Relaying any changes to the suppliers I'm working with on that day.
  • Lay out their supplied decorations around the venue. Set up the ceremony, inside or outside depending on the time of year.
  • Organise the guests to take their seats for the ceremony and get the bridal party and bride down the aisle.
  • Chanel my creative skills through the set up of stations the couple have ordered making them bright and colourful with supplied flowers; cocktail stations, dessert etc.

A bespoke catering company in the heart of Surrey, delivering experiences through food at specific wedding venues for the couples' special day.

  • Based at Millbridge Court Venue, Frensham. Overseeing the whole wedding day from set up through till hours after the first dance.
  • Using organising skills to manage admin; writing up service plans based on the client's table seating, and organising staffing for upcoming weddings.
  • Managed and led the staff allocated for the day, guiding them to assist with necessary tasks; setting up the wedding breakfast room, drinks receptions, service, and clear down, naming a few.
  • Working in the kitchen with the chef overseeing the service of the wedding meal, attending to any last-minute changes from guests.
  • Being attentive to the bride and groom ensuring they have everything they would want and need.
  • Liaising with the suppliers for the duration of the day and coordinating them accordingly; Photographer, musicians, florists, stylists.
  • Working well alongside event coordinators hired by the couple, using teamwork to create the perfect day for the couple.

ACHIEVEMENTS, May 2022 At Quest we organised an event for Action for A-T, a charity ball with a silent auction and sit-down dinner, where we raised £34,200 overall. My role involved welcoming guests and ensuring my tables were well-catered for. I also took charge and used my initiative on the night, selling and upselling raffle tickets on my own tables, plus volunteering to do others when they hadn't been done. Jan 2021 - Feb 2021 I completed a virtual course at Cambridge University, “Ancient Egypt; Five Places, Five Stories”. On target for a high achieving certificate, expanding my knowledge in an interest of mine. Dec 2021 I ran 10K with less than a month's training for the charity Action for A-T and raised £910. Oct 2017 - Jun 2018 I completed the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and the outdoor expeditions.
