- During my first year at college studying engineering, I was fortunate enough to be picked out of hundreds of candidates after a competitive interview stage to take part in a 3-week work experience programme with TUI Airways working within the line maintenance section of the business on their 737,767 and 787 aircraft fleet
- I performed a range of duties which included: Participated and played out a key role in carrying out a wheel replacement on a 787-8 aircraft (G-TUIA) using required tools and paperwork to make a quick, effective but safe wheel change
- Looking through aircraft tech logs and identify any areas of the aircraft that needs to be inspected, fixed or replaced
- Carrying out aircraft programme system restarts and test to identify any problems with the aircraft key systems such as air con, pitot tubes and autopilot systems
- Completing Regular checks of the primary flight controls of the aircraft to make sure all components were working as intended.
