Upon leaving school I started working at Anord Mardix as an assembly operative in the critical power industry. This allowed me stable employment during my time studying at college and a full time opportunity upon completion of the course.
It has been a positive experience and due to working within a large, diverse factory with many people of all different backgrounds it has aided my social skills as well as ability to work and interact with others.
In my role, primarily within the packing department, I have been required to work to tight deadlines as well as collaborate with other departments to ensure the job has been carried out on time and to a high standard.
I undertook work experience at a logistics firm in Liverpool as part of my college course. As well as gaining a brief overview of the logistics industry, it was also very beneficial getting involved first-hand in an office environment completing tasks such as market research, general office administration and sending and receiving emails and phone calls.
