Playing for a hockey team taught me the importance of clear communication and staying focused under pressure On the pitch, quick decision-making and constant coordination with teammates were essential for success, especially in high-stakes moments I learned how to stay calm, think strategically, and support others while adapting to fast-changing situations These experiences strengthened my teamwork and resilience, both on and off the field
Growing up in a Church community has helped me develop strong communication skills across all age groups From an early age, I was involved in conversations and activities with people of all generations, which taught me how to listen respectfully, speak clearly, and connect with others regardless of age Many people have commented on how polite, approachable, and easy to talk to I am
I was an upper school Prefect during my GCSE years at school. As a school prefect, I took on responsibilities that allowed me to be a positive role model for younger students. I helped lead school tours, supported staff during events, and was a reliable point of contact for pupils needing guidance. The role helped me develop confidence, responsibility, and communication skills, as I worked to represent the school’s values and set a good example through my actions and attitude.
I also represented the school at basketball. This was a valuable experience that taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Playing alongside my teammates, I learned how to support others, communicate effectively during fast-paced games, and stay motivated win or lose.
As part of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, I developed valuable skills through volunteering as a hockey coach, where I learned leadership, communication, and how to motivate others. Planning and completing the expedition taught me teamwork, resilience, and the importance of preparation and problem-solving in challenging environments. My physical training as a sportsman improved my discipline, perseverance, and goal-setting abilities, all of which have helped me grow both personally and professionally.
