ACTIVITIES

I have been rowing consistently since I was 16 years old and am currently President of my university’s rowing club. In my role as president, I am responsible for organising transport to and from rowing sessions which involves preparedness as this needs to be organised days in advance as well as communication with members who have cars or with local taxi firms if there are not enough available drivers. My responsibilities as president also involve organising and leading committee meetings as well as mediating disputes between committee members. Finally, as president I am responsible for communicating with organisations outside of the club. These include the student’s union, British Rowing (The national governing body for rowing) as well as other rowing clubs be it either to arrange sessions or to borrow boats for races. I am active in the University Labour Society and through this I have done a significant amount of canvassing and leafleting. I enjoy camping, the outdoors and was an explorer scout leader when I was 18. I have been rowing consistently since I was 16 years old and am currently President of my university’s rowing club. While at university, I was president of the rowing club. While I was in this role the membership of the club greatly increased and we attended more races than we had in previous years. Furthermore, I improved my organisational and communication skills during my time in the role
