Thomas Gordon

While working with WGM Engineering, I have gained experience working throughout Scotland on Scottish Water sites, both waste and clean water. I have been involved in the installation of large-scale equipment, such as pumps and motors, critical to the process of water supply throughout the country. Over the past year I have been lead electrician involved in the inspection and testing of large sites throughout the country, liaising directly with Scottish Water operatives and my fellow electricians to ensure strict deadlines are met and that disruption to the process is kept to a minimum.

• During my time as a tradesperson have been carrying out EICRs on domestic properties all over the Glasgow area, when carrying out the project as part of the contract we would have to undertake any remedials that need to be completed at the time of the inspection which would include partial rewires, replacing damaged accessories and consumer unit upgrades. I was then part of a project where we installed LD2 & LD1 smoke alarm systems in all Wheatley group domestic houses to comply with the Scottish Government's fire and safety guidelines. Currently I am working on a project which is called landlord supplies where we test the communal lighting and power within all wheatley groups multi storey flats, completing planned shutdowns of the flats to carry out inspections on the mains supply.
• Maintained compliance with current regulations (BS7671) to uphold safety standards.

• Completed installations of containment systems, including conduit, tray, and trunking, across multiple construction sites during apprenticeship; transitioned to domestic and commercial EICRs, where I excelled and was invited to return to testing section as tradesperson due to strong learning ability and receptiveness.
• Executed upgrades of domestic consumer units to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Supported team and projects reliably, contributing to trust and efficiency.
• Maintained exemplary timekeeping and attendance throughout employment, ensuring reliable presence.
