Digital Communications & Marketing Intern

Starcatchers
Edinburgh
06.2019 - 08.2019

At this internship I was responsible for digital communications and short term marketing for Scotland’s Arts and Early Years organisation - working with mothers, babies & children. This involved organising and archiving previously gathered footage, shooting both video and stills during their productions and engaging with their community outreach programme. Alongside this I participated in weekly brainstorming meetings, contributing innovative ideas for upcoming marketing initiatives and branding efforts. I was given the opportunity to explore video editing and created various extra videos for the mothers and social media and transcribing outcomes of their AGM.

Projects and Volunteering

Community volunteer
Food Not Bombs
Jul 2023 - Feb 2024
I worked with Leith Food Not Bombs to gather unwanted and perishing ingredients to cook meals and give them away for free. The project involved contacting and coordinating with local or Zero Waste businesses, distributing the gathered foods, organising stalls and then giving away the warm meals. As well as the stalls, we held fortnightly meetings to plan collected donations, sharing cooking skills and how to grown the community. I have a passion for cooking and felt I needed to help others in what way I can.

Online presence including podcasting and twitch streaming

2016- 2022

I have always enjoyed an online presence and have been involved in a few different projects. I hosted a few podcast whilst at Naka. One being a business podcast called 'BizPod' and the other called 'Et Tu Millennials', about sharing discussions and present anxieties openly. These were spiritual follow ups to the smaller podcast I hosted with a few friends whilst at University "Get On My Level". I streamed online gaming and engaged with a small community of other gamers during the pandemic. This involved video streaming software's, scheduling steams and playing games whilst chatting for a few hours at a time. Once streams where finished it was chatting with followers, making the recordings available and then planning the next streams.
