With a deep technical knowledge in IT solutions and design i have built my career around system security. I am an avid learner with a deep interest in cloud computing and solutions design. I have extensive experience in customer facing roles, supporting them in the entire process from an idea - design - procurement - testing and adapting solutions. I have worked all around the country and overseas within a number of different teams. I have experience in teaching and mentoring other junior technicians in all ranges of tasks.

  • Brize Norton in an IT Projects and Deputy Authorised Telecommunications Officer role
  • This is where I was apart of a small team managing and completing IT projects for the entire station and supporting stations.
  • The projects ranged from small scale infrastructure installations up to multi-million pound Tech refresh installations, my job was to liaise with customers directly to understand the needs and expectations, develop this into a business plan and liaise with contractors and technicians to get the ideas into action.

  • I was promoted into RAF St Mawgan originally starting in a mission support team and moving over to the Defence Cyber Protection Team, within my job role I am a senior technician in charge of managing, advising junior technicians and deploying all systems and projects within our unit.
  • I train and manage a team of technicians who's primary role is to design and deploy CCTV systems, Operation centres and portable training centres around the country.
  • Designing these systems can be complex and require quick adaptations dependant on customer needs, with security being a big part in design, my role is to develop systems in line with current cyber threats and practices.
  • I am also the local cyber security threat manager for our unit which includes completing regular cyber Audits, building systems in line with local orders, securing systems by design, consulting customers on local security practices and protecting all units IT systems from cyber threats.
  • Performed security testing using results to identify and fix vulnerable areas.
  • Designed impressive solutions to overcome existing system challenges.
