Ted Cassell

Ted is an enthusiastic ten year old who is very energetic and friendly.

He loves to make new friends and learn new things. He always has lots of questions and shows an interest in a broad range of topics.

He is very chatty and likes to be on the go.

• Cubs - attends weekly group meetings, works to gain new skills and work towards badges. Attends camps, learning outdoor skills, team building activities and building relationships with other members of the group.
• Swimming - attends weekly swimming lessons
• School Choir - is an enthusiastic and active member of the school choir, attending Young Voices for two years and various seasonal public events.
• Chess Club - is a member of the school chess club
• New Youth Theatre - has been a member of our local New Youth Theatre Group from the age of five. Joining the Tiny Tots group and then moving to the Junior Group after one show. More details in the next sections.
• Gardening Club - is a member of Little Roots Gardening Club which takes place at our local Community Allotment
• Reading - Ted enjoys reading a wide variety of books - both Fiction and Non-Fiction. He has a particular love of the Harry Potter series of books
• Playing games on his Nintendo Switch and online games such as Roblox on his ipad
• Drawing - Ted enjoys drawing in his spare time.

New Youth Theatre - Mansfield and Nottingham

Ted has been a member of the New Youth Theatre Group from a young age.

The group meets each week to learn singing, dancing and acting skills, performing a musical once a term at The Bonington Theatre in Arnold, Nottingham.

TinyTots

Matilda the Musical Jr. January-March 2022 (Aged 5)

Ted joined the first group to perform in TinyTots Ensemble performing songs and dances at intervals throughout the show. This was his first on stage experience at the theatre.

TinyTots have 30 minutes lessons in dancing and singing each week of the term.

Juniors

March 2022-Present

After his first set of shows, Ted then moved to the Junior Group, completed his first solo audition for singing, dancing and acting. The group is for children aged 6-14 and they meet on a Saturday for 2-3 hour rehearsals.

The Little Mermaid Jr - March-July 2022 (Aged 6)

Ted had the roles of a Sailor, a Sea Creature and an Unfortunate Soul. Ted was sadly ill with chicken pox for the show weekend, so missed the performances but enjoyed his first full term with the older children.

I'm a Believer - Summer Camp August 2022 (Aged 6)

Ted joined the weekday summer camp which were full days learning a new script with a friends and family performance on the last day. Ted was given the parts of Young Shrek and Humpty Dumpty. He loved having his own parts to act out and his first solo line in a song.

Elf the Musical Jr - September- December 2022 (Aged 6)

Ted had a number of parts in this show, he performed as an Elf, a Macy's Employee and a New Yorker.

This was a big learning curve for Ted learning the workings of the theatre and the first time being responsible for getting on and off stage himself, learning about quick costume changes and also about the importance of props and special effects, such as snow.

Madagascar the Musical - January - March 2023 (Aged 6/7)

This was Ted's first show working in a small group of children as he was given the part of a penguin and a lemur. He really enjoyed working with and learning from some of the older children and was really able to make his own mark on his penguin character. It is here you could really see Teds love of acting.

My Son Pinocchio Jr - April-July 2023 (Aged 7)

Ted had his first lines in this show and he was so excited. He played a boy called Giuseppe and he also had roles in the ensemble as a Marionette and a Delinquent.

Aladdin Junior - September-December 2023 (Aged 7)

Ted was part of the ensemble for Aladdin Junior.

Annie Jr - January-March 2024 (Aged 7/8)

Ted played the part of Fred as well as an orphan and a servant. His role as Fred led him being awarded Star of the Term out of the cast of over 50 children for all his hard work.

Seussical Jr - April-July 2024 (Aged 8)

Ted loved this colourful and whacky adaptation of this musical. He played the parts of a Who and also a creature in the Jungle of Nool scenes.

Let's Talk about Bruno - Summer Camp - August 2024 (Aged 8)

This Encanto inspired Summer Camp was an action packed few days where Ted played Felix Madrigal and he was thrilled to have lots of lines to learn in a short space of time but he also played a pivotal role in the famous "We don't talk about Bruno" song.

Beauty and the Beast Jr - September-December 2024 (Aged 8)

Ted's first main part in a show as Chip the Teacup. He did a fantastic and comical job of playing little Chip and he worked really well with the older children to bring the story to life. He did a fantastic job of really showing his capabilities and took rehearsing at home really seriously.

Shrek the Musical Jr- January-March 2025 (Aged 8/9)

Ted played the part of one of the 3 Little Pigs, working well with the other "pigs" to create a real comedic timing on his part and supporting the rest of the cast with some amazing singing and dancing.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr - April-July 2025 (Aged 9)

Ted was cast as Jeremy and was the biggest part he had received to date. A good mix of singing, dancing and acting, Ted really rose to the challenge and really did a brilliant job. He also loved riding in the famous flying car!

The Wizard of Oz Jr - September- December 2025 (Aged 9)

Ted played the part of Toto in this Junior adaptation of the musical. It did involve a number of lines, a lot of singing and lots of comedy style acting.

Alice in Wonderland Jr - January-March 2026 (Aged 9/10)

Ted is currently working towards his next show where he has been cast as the White Rabbit. He is enjoying the energetic acting style and has his own songs to sing during the show which he is busy practicing for currently.
