  • The project focused on investigating whether Acidianus Bottle-shaped Virus is capable of protein-primed replication
  • Independently planed and performed lab experiments
  • Utilised the following techniques: protein expression and purification, microscale thermophoresis (MST), thermal shift assays (TSA), electrophoretic mobility shift assays (EMSA), and primer extension assays
  • Gained skills in presenting data at lab meetings to 10+ participants
  • Analysed experimental data using statistical software for insightful conclusions.
  • Utilised bioinformatics tools (AlphaFold, BLASTp, DALI, ChimeraX) to further understand protein structure and homology
