Tayon Humphrey

I have always had a dream of working in the auto motive industry since i was a child, I like fixing things, I like taking them apart, putting them back together and learning how engines work. I am currently at college currently studying motorcycle mechanics so I have some experience with motorbikes but my dream is to work on cars. My dream is to get an apprentice with DLG and train to become a vehicle repair technician.

Nothing excites me more than the thought of seeing a damaged car, and fixing it to the standard as if nothing has happened, then getting the customer back on the road. I want to be efficient and reassure customers so they can get on with their everyday life's.

From my current course i have gained alot of experience working in a garage, around engines, parts writing reports on imi working closely with trainers and having my work assessed, and i enjoy it, This is what I want to do.

My mum Ruth hunphrey works for Direct Line as a insurance consultant in the motor team, she started 2 years ago and she said that's it for her now she is staying at DLG for life. She works in sales, retention, service and amends department. Everyday i see her waking up happy doing her job with so much passion, and when she is speaking to her customers, she shows so much dedication and is very proud to be part of DLG. They have a problem she reassures them and solves it. Mum always says DLG looks after their staff and is an amazing company because it cares about the customers and staff, i find that amazing.

My mum always talks to me about DLG'S visions, To be brilliant for your customers everyday, To create a world where insurance is personal, inclusive and a force for good and To help people carry on with their lives, giving them peace of mind now and in the future.

I believe in your visions, I trust them and like my mum i can really see myself growing and developing a a successful future with DLG. Too be honest this is the only company I see myself staying for life I cant vision anywhere else.

I love mechanics, i love fixing engines, and from all the information my mum has told me, to the research i have done myself i really want this, Honestly if i get this i could see myself staying for life, I vision myself becoming a valuated member of the team, helping to get the work load down but completed to a high standard. If you give me this opportunity, you will see i am hard working efficient and always take on feedback and will always implement to become better. Also i my family and i used to live opposite the DLG repair centre in Orpington so i am familiar with the location as well. I would be grateful if u could give me this opportunity.

• Motorbikes, Cars, building things, fixing things, Anything that has a engine. I love cooking for the family especially my speciality meal which is macaroni cheese. Love baking for my little brother and sister and enjoy food shopping for mum at tesco.
