Probono.Org - Certificate of Appreciation

  • Was responsible for research for the project of collaboration between ProBono.Org and ProBono Canada. Research contributed approaching the Canadian Consulate in South Africa, aiding this project in moving forward.
  • Research for potential law firms (with contact details for relevant departments or individuals) willing to sign on lawyers for Probono work, as planned for the 2025 One Child a Year Conference (OCAY), celebrating International Children's Day. Using this research, dozens of law firms signed on to attend the conference and assigned staff to participate in this essential project.

· Discussed the role of associates in international risk (in terms of litigation and research/review of information sources), and the essential nature of different types of risk insurance (geopolitical, business interruption, and property risk) in an international risk framework.

· Practical application: examined a case study on oil spillage and the potential litigation claims that could follow. Through this practice, one walked through the stages of pre-action (examining the case itself and calculating its validity and chance of success), preparing a defence or potential settlement agreement, and then participating in the trial and legal enforcement.


State Capture & Beyond

· An informative discussion about uplifting marginalised communities through examining what lies beyond political corruption.

· Practical application: discussed potential outreach programs (such as workshops, social media campaigns, creating a documentary, public forums, and so on) to inform individuals of the true power of democracy and to foster collaboration.
