After purchasing my first set of DJ equipment and sound system in October 2018, building connections allowing me to DJ most weekends whilst working in a 9-5 full-time job, September 2022 was when I decided to take my passion of music to the next level by DJ'ing full time. My current residencies are:
Wednesday & Friday nights in Birmingham at Rum Rum in the Arcadian
Saturday nights in Chesterfield at The Association
I moved to Uk Tool Hire in 2018 and finished my Level 2 NVQ in Plant Maintenance in August 2019. In 2022 I was promoted to the Mobile Breakdown Mechanical Fitter role.
This role included:
Communicating with customers on the phone and on site about faults with machinery they had on site
Fixing machines on site in all weather conditions
Ordering parts for customers to be fitted on site
I am currently working towards a Level 2 NVQ in Plant Maintenance with A Plant (Nottingham) as an apprentice. This involves going to college on block release for two weeks every 6 weeks. I have been working independently carrying out tasks such as pre-hire inspections, jobs that require welding, grinding and main servicing. I have spent a few months working in the plant industry and in the small tools department building up my toolbox as I go along, ensuring that I have the correct tools for the job. I have been involved in various breakdowns when required such as changing tracks and onsite servicing. In September 2018 I decided to move on from A Plant and continue my Level 2 NVQ in Plant Maintenance with UK Tool Hire.
From June 2016 - September 2017 I worked at GB Willbond Plumbing Centre in the warehouse department where I do a range of activities to ensure that the company is receiving minimal problems, and everything is being run smoothly. My job is to make sure that good from different couriers and companies are being checked into the building and booked in through the system correctly so that we can book them out as jobs to be sold to the customer. When products are booked in I have to make sure that the products are put away in the correct locations to make it easier for my colleagues to find for customers. My job is also to pick and check jobs for customers making sure that the right products are being sent out on the right jobs to customers because if we were to send out the wrong product to a plumber that is doing work for his/her own customer, it could effect the plumbers work themselves not being able to do certain parts of their job because we have made a mistake. GB Willbond is a plumbing merchant so it is important that I learn all of the products so that I can make suggestions to customers what type of pipe, fittings etc. will work best for the type of job they are carrying out.
I developed a wide range of skills whilst working at Toys'r'Us which include:
Working on the tills handling money
Ensuring that the correct amount of money is being traded in order for targets to be met
Tidying areas to ensure that customers have a satisfying experience whilst shopping in store
Participating in inventory to ensure the amount of stock in store is correct
Giving advice on the best product ensuring that they are getting their value for money
Music knowledge
