I am caring and compassionate towards all queries they may have or problems they may be facing. My main responsibilities is dealing with general admin duties throughout the day. I focus mostly on the finance department, this involves organising and launching trips, monitoring student's financial funds, fundraising, banking and much more. I also support with wider communication that we send out to our community, whether this be to our Academy audience or sharing our positivity on our Socials.
I have also gained experience working on our main Academy reception. This is a fast paced role which requires a lot of attention to detail. Within this role inbound and outbound calls are very frequent, resulting in excellent customer service provided.
Working as an administrator means being a part of the Business Support Team. Being a part of the team comes a lot of teamwork and helping one an other with tasks we may be facing. This also gains extra knowledge across all departments. I am always willing to help support teachers and other colleagues around the Academy to the best of my ability.
I worked at Kettering General Hospital as an Apprentice for a short period in Business and Administration. Most of my day to day tasks as an Apprentice included;
Other administrative tasks were performed across the period of employment.
I started off an exciting career opportunity as a Health Care assistant at Kettering General Hospital. This was as a bank role that then progressed to a permanent position in ENT Outpatients.
Whilst working as a bank Health Care Assistant, I experienced both ward and outpatient shifts. On the wards I got involved in a variety of tasks for example, escorting patients for tests or procedures within the hospital premises whilst ensuring their safety and comfort, collaborating with nurses to provide comprehensive patient care ensuring a smooth recovery path, enhanced healing process by changing wound dressings regularly and daily managing personal hygiene of bed-bound patients, maintaining dignity and respect at all times amongst other duties. Frequently on some wards I worked on I dealt with some challenging behaviours, dementia patients were on most wards. I also helped to maintain stock levels of medical supplies on the wards, ensuring uninterrupted care services during shifts. Throughout any shift I always kept detailed records of patients progress.
Following working on the wards I progressed to a permanent bank position to ENT Outpatients which then progressed a full time permanent position. Within outpatients I helped run daily clinics with different clinicians. I helped chaperone with treatments and consultations. I also supported on running the ENT Adhoc clinic, this clinic involved seeing emergency patients from A&E and direct from Doctor's surgeries. I was responsible for supporting the Doctor and running of the clinic with booking in new patients, ordering patient private medical notes and also making sure stock and medication was replenished after each appointment. Whilst working in ENT I also worked alongside the Audiology department who ran clinics alongside ENT.
For both wards and outpatients I was able to use the Hospitals computer software to access all patient medical records when required, view test results and much more.
Overall being a Health Care Assistant within the hospital showed me how to care and be compassionate towards others, whilst giving the best version of yourself.
