Experienced journalist and news desk editor, highly skilled at generating sharp ideas for original content and commissioning and editing stories that splash the newspaper and homepage on a weekly basis.
Working as Assistant News Editor on The i Paper's breaking news team. Managing an ambitious group of talented reporters - alongside the Breaking News Editor - who specialise in breaking exclusive stories across a variety of topics including health, education, transport and crime, with a focus on public interest journalism. My role is central to The i Paper's daily output, from commissioning and overseeing investigations to co-ordinating live news coverage.
Commissioning, developing and editing stories to represent the capital's diverse communities, whilst guiding the newsroom to produce engaging journalism which matters to modern Londoners. The role included daily news editing responsibilities along with wider audience tasks such as homepage editing, posting to social media and sending newsletters.
Writing multiple pieces each day, ranging from in-depth features and showbiz content, to hard-hitting news and reporting live from crime scenes. During this time I gained a particular interest in covering issues affecting women and girls in the capital, and London's housing crisis.
