I am a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable 19 year old university student, who is looking for a part-time job. I really enjoy meeting new people, and I feel like I work best in busy environments with lots of social interaction. Therefore, working as part of a team and providing great customer service.
Since finishing school, I have been focused on my university studies and have also spent time travelling during holidays, which has helped me become more independent, adaptable and confident. I am now excited to return to work over the summer and am eager to learn new skills while making a positive contribution to a team.
I have nannied two young girls bellow the age of eight on and off for the last year. I started over last summer with regular nine to five days where their mother was at work, as well as numerous evenings and weekends in the times I have been back from uni. I believe this job has taught me a lot about responsibility and social skills, as well learning to have a lot more patience and understanding. I have also had a lot of experience with cooking meals and cleaning, as part of this job is making sure the girls are well fed and the house is tidy.
I worked at between the lines for a short amount of time before I started by A levels. I was an assistant manager, so I would either be serving customers and ading with their purchasing, stocking the shelves or unpacking new stock aswell. This job was also helpful in teaching me important skills for customer service, and having a real understanding of the stock we were selling.
I was a waitress at Cowdary cafe, during the first year of college. This job taught me lots about work under pressure as the cafe was very big and was always extremely busy. As it would serve full course meals, beverages and takeaway, I became accustomed to serving drinks and food and carrying very heavy trays by hand. I also improved on my social skills whilst working there, even though I would say I am quite a bubbly person anyway, I learnt how to work as a team and be accommodating to all types of customers. I also did a lot of cleaning, including all of the tables floors and toilets, so I grasped a real understanding of how cafes/ restaurants should be properly run.
At the moment I am studying English Literature at the University of Leeds. In its own way uni has helped my independence and self intuition as I learned to live by my self.
