• Part of specialist critical care transport team that transfers more than 2,000 infants and children by road and air. Only transport team in UK that combines neonatal and Paediatric transfers and maintains interchangeable skill mix.
• Increased confidence in transferring extreme preterm neonates, emphasising thermoregulation, humidity, minimal handling, good positioning/nesting during transfers.
• Performed MSc research project which looked at the feasibility of using Transport PEWS in the UK paediatric critical care transport setting.
• Flight training with The Children’s Air ambulance (TCAA) and got the opportunity to do 1st helicopter transfer.

• 10-bed paediatric intensive care unit and 9-bed High dependency unit and Paediatric major trauma centre,
• The intensive care unit provided support to multiple specialities like neurosurgery, hemat-oncology, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine and neurology.
• I worked closely with ST3 trainees and helped them in job prioritisation and time management skills. I was involved in regular teaching- bedside, procedural and departmental.
• Participated in clinical governance and did a service evaluation project looking at the effectiveness of the elective bed booking system for post-operative cases needing PICU/HDU admissions.

• Community paediatric rotation with out of hours on-call cover as a General Paediatric registrar at Rotherham District General Hospital.
• Managed my timetable and caseload at the child development centre to meet the RCPCH level 2/3 community paediatric curriculum requirements with the opportunity to shadow many community based multidisciplinary services. This included portage home visits, school visits, joint child development clinics, and multi-agency special educational needs (SEN) panel meetings.
• Conducted clinics for Looked After Children, Education (SEN) medicals and enuresis clinics with consultant support. I attended an adoption panel meeting.
• Child protection medical clinics and gained a lot of insight into the process and wrote clear reports for CP medicals with consultant supervision.
• Designed and coordinated the teaching rota for ST4-8 paediatric doctors in the department as per the RCPCH curriculum.
• Audited the resuscitation equipment available in the community paediatric setting as against the set standards. Also conducted a staff survey involving health professionals working in community paediatric settings to assess their resuscitation training and identify training needs.

• Tertiary neonatal unit experience
• Independently resuscitated extreme premature neonates and managed various neonatal emergencies

• Middle Grade experience in a District general Hospital covering General Paediatrics and level 2 neonatal unit.
• Management responsibilities:
  - Perinatal mortality meetings co-ordinator.
  - DGH representative at the regional paediatric junior doctors’ forum.

• Clinical Fellow in PICU. I worked for 9 months in PICU/NICU (5 months as Senior Tier ICON fellow), 3 months CATS, and 3 months Cardiac Intensive Care.
• PICU/NICU- Worked as Senior Tier fellow on PICU/NICU and my role included ward round as fellow of the week, supervising and helping junior colleagues and inter-hospital transfers.
• Cardiac intensive care Unit- Involved in the care of children who were post-cardiac surgery, post heart/lung transplant, patients with ECMO support and cardiac assist device (Berlin heart).
• Children’s Acute Transport Service (CATS) - This 3 month rotation was the first transport experience and I gained insight into the working of critical care transport service. Gained a lot of confidence in adapting to a new setting and delivering intensive care support outside PICU.

The East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre was situated at Leicester’s Glenfield Hospital. I worked as a PICU registrar and also covered paediatric cardiology ward 30, and Congenital cardiac outpatients clinic.
